HOW THE MAN OF GOD SPEAK TODAY?
The story of the men of this time seems to be played outside of God. Secularism puts God outside of any human project. The man is focused on himself and is far and judge of all.
But can man, the image and likeness of God not to charge at some point in its existence, the existence of God? Undoubtedly, many men and women have had this experience, sometimes in joy and others among the greatest suffering of life: what for many has been rebellion, while others were meeting with the Transcendent, discovery but definitely a quiet presence in the interior.
Seneca said: "While those who say they do not perceive the existence of God, because although they claim to-day, and night alone doubt."
question is therefore to highlight the presence of modern man, in his own personal reality. Perhaps the road is to seek God in men, in oneself and others, in an appropriate balance.
To embark on this path can not be assumed but the experience itself. Those called to proclaim the good news of the Gospel are called to produce a certain style of life. The Incarnate Word is that evangelization, therefore, "modern man listens more willingly to witnesses than to teachers" (EN 40). Our way
to speak of God will reflect our personal relationship with Him that both appreciates the authenticity today's world "requires that the evangelists speak of a God to whom they should know and familiarly as if they were watching" (EN 76) .
worth mentioning that the testimony does not annul the proclamation of the word, but the supports, makes it credible and feasible.
In Romans 10, 14-17 Paul speaks with conviction about the need to preach. It is a mission that can not be waived. "Woe to me if I preach the Gospel." "The fatigue produced these days so many empty talk and the relevance of many other forms of communication must not however diminish the permanent value word or to lose confidence in it "(EN 42).
We must encourage men to find God from his own finitude, in his own personal reality, but with the greatest freedom in choosing the road. They are personal convictions that we must take to adhere to the truth of God and not external imposition. The gospel is not to be imposed, but given enthusiastic, confident and real.
"There are countless events of life and human situations which offer the occasion to announce a discreet but effective, what the Lord has to say in a given circumstance. Just a true spiritual sensitivity to read the message in the events of God " (EN 43).
The circumstances may also suggest a suitable style, tone, mode. Speaking of God to man of today requires powers of observation, discovery and adaptation.
is not just to adapt to how people speak, but also their varied ways of expressing themselves, their worries, concerns, desires and questions.
Among the means at our disposal to accomplish this mission, the instruments of social communication are uniquely placed. The necessary presence of the media requires compatible straight and honest participation in a pluralistic society, where ideas are discussed, with the proposition evangelical criteria. That is, enter into a discussion plural, "with respect", but with a certain transcendent truly valued. In the selection of subjects, especially in communication aimed at the entertainment, models that are used can be an effective way to induce specific values \u200b\u200bbut not so tacit and, therefore, much more permeable in the modern man . Encouraging
this mission, said Pope Benedict XVI to the staff of the media of the Italian Episcopal Conference:
"That in this activity and inspires their courage hold certain that the Christian faith is open to whatever is' true night, just, pure, lovely, honorable 'in the culture of peoples, as taught by the Apostle Paul to the Philippians (cf. Phil. 4.8). So, continue your work in this spirit and with this attitude, giving yourself a deep luminous testimony of Christian life and therefore always remained steadfastly united to Christ in order to see the world as he looks. Be happy to belong to the Church and enter your voice and your reasons in the great circuit of communication. Be not weary of building bridges of understanding and communication between the ecclesial experience and public opinion. So may be involved in a communication elusive, but friends in the service of man of today. "
